Federal agencies have planned to expand the use of facial recognition technology in the next few years. According to a Government Accountability Office report on Tuesday, 10 federal agencies would begin implementing artificial intelligence technology in more aspects of their work.
The report indicated many of the agencies already use facial recognition to give employees access to their the buildings or computers. However, the agencies have wanted to expand such technology to track crime and investigate people of interest.

Meanwhile, critics argue the agencies will be violating citizen’s rights to privacy with more accurate facial recognition technology.
