Police in Little Rock, Arkansas are looking to identify a man believed to be the suspect in a string of knife attacks, three of which were fatal.
On Thursday, police announced the four stabbings have all occurred within the past six months, adding the public should be on high alert.
“Here’s what we know, the common suspect in these incidents is possibly an adult male, slender build,” stated Police Chief Keith Humphrey. “In the incident with the survivor, the suspect was described as a black male.”
The police chief said officers responded to an attack in early April, where the victim survived and was able to give officers a slight description.
A couple of days later, officers said detectives investigated a body discovered on Wright Avenue, where they were able to determine a possible connection in the two attacks along with two other homicides from six months ago.
“I can say for certain that these incidents happened in the midtown area, they also occurred between the hours of 1 a.m. and 4 a.m.,” stated Chief Humphrey. “Those who were walking in the area were randomly attacked.”
According to reports, the first attack took place back in late August where a 64-year old man was stabbed to death in front of a Little Rock residence.
“We have begun working with our community partners and we also are working to ensure that there’s an awareness of this specific threat,” Chief Humphrey continued. “I have put additional uniform and plain clothed officers in the area and increased patrols.”
Little Rock Police are offering a reward of up to $20,000 for any information as the suspect remains at large. The chief assured they will do everything possible to arrest this suspect and protect the city.
