A manhunt has come to an end after three men were taken into custody following a mass shooting in East St. Louis, Illinois. Reports said the men opened fire on a group of people injuring seven, including a child.
The suspects include Deangelo M. Higgs, Cartez Beard and Lorenzo Bruce Jr. who are all native to the area.
One of the shooting victims crashed the car he was driving into a commuter train. The victims were then taken to the hospital where their conditions remain unknown at this time.
The shooting also sparked a citywide curfew that currently remains in place.
A witness recalled the shooting and said it came out of nowhere. “Next thing you know, they just started shooting and it came at the back of my head and I didn’t know what to do but to get up and run,” said Stephen Price.

Police said the suspects, aged 30 to 35, were found in the basement of a partially demolished building. They now face charges of aggravated battery and possession of weapons. The police chief said the shooting wasn’t random, but was a targeted act. An investigation is still ongoing.
