Biden administration officials conducting an intelligence review into the origins of the coronavirus, have reportedly begun opening up to the idea that COVID-19 was leaked from a Chinese laboratory. New reports detailed the shift in perspective, saying officials are admitting the theory is credible after being largely skeptical for most of the past year.
The reports said at this point little evidence has been uncovered to push either the lab leak theory or the natural emergency theory. In the meantime, China has continued to deny there was a leak and instead has suggested the source may have originated from frozen food.

“It was concluded that laboratory leaks are impossible. We will continue to investigate on a global basis, search for the initial cases and study the impact of cold chain and frozen packaging have had on transmission,” Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Zhao Lijian said while defending China’s position.
This comes as the chief for the World Health Organization on Thursday, admitted it was “premature” to rule out a potential link between the pandemic and a lab leak. He has since asked China to be more transparent in the search for the virus’ origins.
