Joe Biden took an opportunity to push his Build Back Better agenda while speaking at an event honoring Martin Luther King Junior. On Thursday, the Democrat spoke in front of the MLK Memorial in Washington D.C. to honor its 10th anniversary.
While speaking at the gathering, Biden decided it was a good time to push his multi-trillion dollar economic package while calling for “equity,” touting his child tax credit and calling for improvements to pre-K education. He also pushed for the Democrats’ so-called Voting Rights bill, which was recently struck down in the Senate.
“Today the right to vote and the rule of law are under unrelenting assault from Republican governors, attorneys general, secretaries of state, state legislators and they’re following my predecessor, the last president, into a deep, deep black hole and abyss,” Biden claimed.

That’s completely false.

He then accused Republicans of being afraid to even talk about the legislation, adding the push to get it passed is far from over. Meanwhile, Republicans have argued the bill is nothing more than an attempt to federalize U.S. elections.
