Bruce Jenner did just about everything growing up: football, basketball, track, and water skiing.  In the Montreal 1976 Olympic Games, Jenner set a new world record in the decathlon, reports the United States Olympic and Paralympic Museum Hall of Fame.

Then in 2015, Jenner transitioned to a woman and adopted her new name, Caitlyn.

Jenner, a former “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” reality TV star, is now discussing with consultants a potential run for governorship of the State of California with the help of GOP fundraiser Caroline Wren, whom she met through her work with the American Unity Fund, a GOP nonprofit focused on LGBT issues, reports Axios and the Hill. 

In response to the state’s performance during the coronavirus crisis among other reasons, Gov. Gavin Newsom faces a recall effort, with the California secretary of state currently verifying 2.1 million signatures to hold a recall election, according to Ballotpedia.

Jenner is a Republican and onetime supporter of former President Donald Trump, breaking with Trump over transgender rights in 2018.

The Hill reported that Jenner’s manager, Sophia Hutchins, previously rejected the notion that Jenner would run for governor, but in the current climate, Republicans like Jenner are considering their options,
