White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki has confirmed that a fully vaccinated White House official has tested positive for COVID-19. During a press briefing on Tuesday, Psaki informed the public of an outbreak amongst Democrat lawmakers, but failed to expand on the extent of the issue.
The White House official, along with an aide for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), both tested positive despite being fully vaccinated. This comes as six Texas lawmakers from the nearly 60 Democrats who fled to Washington, D.C., have reportedly tested positive for the virus.
Reports said at least one of the cases involving the two staffers could be linked to the group of Texas Democrats. Republicans have criticized the Texas Democrats trip to the Capitol, for what they said could be a “super spreader” trip.
Imagine if 50 GOP state reps skipped work, drank beer on a private jet while ignoring federal mask mandates, held a press conference to spread flagrant lies that’ve been debunked, and then infected the Speaker’s Office and White House with COVID. Just imagine.#TexasDemocrats

Additionally, a lack of clarity still exists on Kamala Harris’ COVID-19 test result. Yet, when asked if the Biden administration is at all concerned about Harris’ health, Psaki said she thinks Harris has tested negative for the virus.
However, there has been speculation as to whether Harris was indeed tested at all, as a statement from her spokesperson on Saturday clearly stated she would neither get tested nor self quarantine. Critics believe Harris may have been at risk of contracting the virus after several unknowingly infected Democrat lawmakers made their way to D.C.
Despite the virus running rampant through the Democrat Party and potentially infecting Kamala Harris, spokesperson Psaki said the Biden administration would continue to support the efforts of the Texas Democrats.
