Dr. Anthony Fauci said it was too early to tell whether Americans should avoid Christmas gatherings. During an interview with CBS’s Face the Nation on Sunday, the White House Chief Medical Advisor said he was unsure if gatherings should be limited during the holidays amid an uptick in cases.

Fauci said it was too soon to tell and advised Americans to focus on keeping numbers down. He added we should be looking at ventilation into indoor spaces because the virus “clearly spreads by Aerosol.”

“It is just too soon to tell. We have to concentrate on continuing to get those numbers down and not try to jump ahead by weeks or months and say what we’re going to do at a particular time,” he stated. “Let’s focus like a laser on continuing to get those cases down and we can do it.”

Fauci went on to encourage booster shots in the situation where boosters were appropriate.
