The former Director of National Intelligence on Sunday rebutted the assertion by ex-intelligence officials that it was Russian disinformation that emails on Hunter Biden’s laptop supposedly pointed to a possible meeting with a corrupt Ukrainian energy firm.

In an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” John Ratcliffe, who served under former President Donald Trump, said it was wrong to disparage a New York Post report that implicated Hunter Biden and his then-vice president father Joe Biden as being involved in the supposed meeting set-up.

Joe Biden has denied the meeting described took place.

“To have 50 former Obama-Clinton-Biden national security officials come out after the director of national intelligence says this is not true, and protect a false narrative to protect Joe Biden and try and influence the outcome of the election, that is the definition of politicizing intelligence,” Ratcliffe said.

“And people ask me all the time about election interference and election influence, and yeah, we need to be concerned about Russia and China and Iran, but there’s no greater expression of that than what you just saw there. A completely false narrative.”

According to Ratcliffe, the intelligence community “knew that this was not Russian disinformation, and law enforcement knew that it was Hunter Biden’s laptop — there was an open investigation into that, and yet those officials, supported by a corporate media, ran a false narrative and misinformed the American people.”

Ratcliffe insisted the laptop that turned up at a repair shop was, indeed, Hunter Biden’s, despite his distancing himself from that reality.

“To your point earlier about his book tour and the things that he doesn’t remember over the last four years, again, there was an FBI investigation ongoing at the time, before the election,” Ratcliffe said. “It was Hunter Biden’s laptop. The things on that laptop that the FBI and the Department of Justice have — those are real. But now the question is: will Joe Biden’s Department of Justice exercise prosecutorial discretion against Joe Biden’s son? I don’t know the answer to that. I know what the answer should be.”

Ratcliffe lamented that “very few people out in the media have accurately reported Hunter Biden, Joe Biden and those issues that were important that would have framed the outcome of the election.”

According to the New York Post report, the emails revealed Hunter Biden introduced a top Burisma executive to his father less than a year before the elder Biden admittedly pressured Ukrainian officials into firing a prosecutor investigating the company. The Post said it had received a copy of a laptop hard drive belonging to Hunter Biden from Rudy Giuliani, then a lawyer for Trump. Giuliani claimed he obtained the hard drive from the repair shop.
