GOP gubernatorial candidate for California, Larry Elder, has promised to repeal mask and vaccine mandates if elected governor. Speaking to a crowded church on Thursday, the Republican show host said he believes Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) locked down California harder than any other state in the union.

The Bay Area church was chosen specifically because they have racked up $1 million in fines for defying COVID restrictions. Elder said all such restrictions on the people, businesses and churches in California would be lifted as his first act of governor.

Meanwhile, embattled Democrat Gov. Newsom has started up his own campaign to urge Californians to vote no on recalling him. He compared Larry Elder to President Donald Trump, implying the two have a close relationship that is bad for Californians.
