The boyfriend of a missing travel blogger has been named a person of interest. Authorities confirmed on Wednesday, 23-year-old Brian Laundrie hired an attorney and refused to answer any questions about the disappearance of 22-year-old Gabrielle Petito.
The van life blogger and her boyfriend moved to North Port, Florida together two years ago. They began a cross country road trip together in their white Ford van in July, while documenting their travels on social media.
Petito’s mother, who reported her missing, claimed the pair recently agreed to call of their engagement.
“As a father, I can imagine the pain and suffering Gabby’s family is going through. We are pleading with anyone, including Brian, to share information with us on her whereabouts in the past few weeks,” said North Port Police Chief Todd Garrison in a released statement. “The lack of information from Brian is hindering this investigation. The answers will eventually come out.”

Petito was last see in Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park. Her disappearance has sparked a national search with multiple agencies including the FBI.
