Three students were shot outside a high school in South Carolina. Police said the shooting occurred outside Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School on Wednesday afternoon. Gunshots were reportedly fired from a vehicle driving by during afternoon dismissal.

School officials said the injuries to the three students are believed to be non-life-threatening. The sheriff’s office said one person is in custody in connection with the shooting.

So far, there has been no word yet on a motive. However, Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell confirmed a suspect had been taken into custody.

The district wrote, “our community’s continued patience and prayers are requested for all students, especially those who sustained injuries resulting from this afternoon’s tragedy.”

In the meantime, the investigation is still ongoing.
