In the early morning hours today, two teenage brothers wielded guns in Allen, Texas, laying waste to their immediate family.

The brothers killed themselves, parents, sister, and grandma after making a suicide pact.

A close family friend confirmed 19-year-old twins Farhan and Farbin Towhid, their older brother Tanvir Towhid, 21, and their parents Iren and Towhidul Islam died. The children’s grandmother was also a victim, according to CBS.

The family is part of a tight knit Bangladeshi community, CBS reported.

“Apparently two brothers made an agreement to commit suicide and ended up taking the entire family with them,” police Sgt. Jon Felty told The Dallas Morning News, US News reported.

According to CBS, police said that a social media post by one of the victims said that he made a pact with his brother to kill his family and commit suicide.

Farhan Towhid’s Instagram contained a lengthy suicide note, Police said.  He wrote, “Hey everyone. I killed myself and my family.” He also discussed his ongoing battle with depression.

Police said, no other reasons or motives are known at this point, beyond the reported depression; nor is it known why the brothers were depressed.

In the suicide note, Farhan Towhid said in February of this year, his older brother — who was also battling depression — made a proposition. He wrote that his brother said, “If we can’t fix everything in a year, we’ll kill ourselves and our family,” reported CBS.

The letter detailed the brothers’ plan.

“The plan was simple. We get two guns. I take one and shoot my sister and grandma, while my brother kills our parents with the other. Then we take ourselves out.” reported CBS.
