Members of a Pennsylvania community are mourning after a U.S. Postal worker fell victim to a suspected revenge murder.
“One of the most loved guys in the neighborhood. Everybody talks to him. His name was Lou,” said a resident of Collier Township, Ken Bock. “He has been here for as long as I can remember.”
On Thursday, Louis Vignone was delivering a round of mail in a neighborhood near Pittsburgh when a man with a vendetta came for revenge. Officials said the 58-year-old mail carrier was shot multiple times, including in the head. One neighbor and her husband found Vignone on the ground.
The suspect, identified as Eric Kortz, turned himself into authorities and reportedly admitted to shooting the postal worker as he was driving by. Kortz said he shot Vignone because he believed the mail carrier poisoned him and his family with cyanide back when they were neighbors.
However, the situation still left neighbors wondering whether there was more behind the shooting.
“He [Vignone] was just doing his job,” said Bock.

The case is currently being investigated by the U.S. Postal Inspection service and as for Kortz, he has now been charged with the murder of a U.S. employee and is set to appear in court next week.
