Donald Trump weighed in on reports of the Biden administration paying immigrant families separated at the border.
“When you look at what they’re doing at the border, there’s never been anything like it. The greatest we’ve ever had went to the worst…probably one of the worst in the history of the world because no country can sustain what’s happening to our country,” said the 45th president.
Trump criticized reports suggesting the Biden administration is paying hundreds of millions of dollars to immigrant families. During an interview on the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Radio Show, President Trump said what the current administration is doing is “not even believable.”
The 45th president is one of several GOP leaders who have showed outrage after the Wall Street Journal reported the Department of Justice, Homeland Security and Health and Human Services were in talks of paying $450,000 to immigrant families split at the border. The money would come as compensation to resolve lawsuits “filed by parents and children who say the government subjected them to lasting psychological trauma.”
Pure insanity. The Biden administration is reportedly looking to pay $450,000 to illegal immigrants who knowingly broke the law.
It's a slap in the face to our law-abiding citizens who wake up, go to work, and pay their taxes.

Trump, however, asserted one of the reasons he was successful at the border is because of such separation.
“Well, one of the things we were doing is separation, which was done before us, but separation. When people heard that, they didn’t come because if a parent hears they’re going to be separated, they didn’t come,” he said. “One of the reasons I was so successful at the border.”
He said there’s never been anything like what the Biden administration is doing at the border and that the U.S. has become a “dumping ground.”
“It’s not even believable what they’re doing. It’s not even believable,” Trump stated. “And you have big caravans coming up. You have tough caravans. They went right through the Mexican police like it was butter. We better stop them. That’s all I can tell you. We’re taking in millions of people into our country illegally.”
