Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) filed articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over the worsening crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border. The Arizona lawmaker made the announcement on Tuesday.
Biggs argued Mayorkas failed to uphold his oath of office and recklessly abandoned border security. He added the DHS secretary also undermined the enforcement of immigration law and his impeachment has been long overdue.

Biggs went on to stress Mayorkas subjected Americans to unnecessary risk and must be removed.
