Congressman Troy Nehls (R-Texas) refuted a statement from the Capitol Police in the latest debate of suspected spying on Republican lawmakers. The Texas representative took to Twitter Thursday to share a video of the door of his office while commenting that it closes automatically.
This is the exact door @CapitolPolice claims their officer found “wide open” on that Saturday.

This clarification came after the Capitol Police said the door was “open” when its officer went into the room and took pictures of confidential legislative documents. Nehls said it’s not possible that the door could be found “wide open” as they claimed. The congressman then alleged Republicans are being spied on for political purposes.
“We have the evidence that they’re not just spying, they’re gathering evidence and intelligence from members’ offices,” said the Texas lawmaker. “And then having the intelligence section of Capitol Police investigate those members and I am one of those.”

Nehls and his Republican colleagues have demanded that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (R-Calif.) explain these incidents to which the house speaker responded she has no control over the Capitol Police.
