It’s becoming increasingly unlikely Democrats will be able to pass Joe Biden’s Build Back Better agenda before the New Year. Bloomberg reported Thursday that Democrat leaders in the Senate failed to break a deadlock over the massive spending agenda.
The White House has been trying to negotiate with Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) over the costly Child Tax Credit included in the bill. During a press briefing Thursday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the Biden administration will continue to push for the legislation.
“This is a priority for the President to lower cost again, for Americans that I just listed out: child care, elder care, prescription drugs, universal pre-K, she stated. “All of these things are highly critical to American families and that’s what they want us to seek to see us do…to deliver and that’s going to be our focus.”

Democrats are hoping to get the bill passed without GOP support, but whether Democrats can actually do that is still facing a parliamentary review.
