Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) harshly criticized Joe Biden’s mishandling of the Afghan crisis. During an interview on Sunday, the senator from Nebraska said the Biden administration had no plan to evacuate U.S. civilians from Kabul.
“Their plan has basically been happy talk,” he asserted. “People have died and people are going to die because President Biden decided to rely on happy talk instead of reality. ”
Mr. President, there is a clear choice before you now: Either rip up the August 31 deadline and defend evacuation routes — by expanding the perimeter around the Kabul airport or by retaking Bagram — or leave our people behind in your retreat. pic.twitter.com/ePAVIZitjS

Sasse stressed Biden and his officials were disconnected from reality in Afghanistan. The senator also said Biden betrayed Afghan allies and put them up for persecution by the Taliban.
“They passed a list of American citizens and America’s closest allies, people who fought alongside us, they passed those lists to the Taliban, relying on them, thinking they could trust on them. It was stupid then. It’s insane now,” he explained. “…It was a disgusting revelation of yet again no plan.”
Sasse went on to say Afghanistan would likely become a hotbed of Islamic terror yet again as the consequence of Biden’s gross negligence and incompetence on the ground.
