Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) has been criticizing vaccine mandates, saying neither Joe Biden nor private companies have the authority to implement it. During an exclusive interview with Breitbart, the Republican said he won’t back down to the federal government or giant corporations.

“Part of the governors’ job is to ensure the freedoms that are guaranteed by the Constitution and the laws of our constituents are going to be protected,” he stated. “So I had to stand up and protect those freedoms of people not having their bodies basically invaded by a vaccine that they do not want.”

With an executive order implemented early fall, the Lone Star State governor banned any entity in Texas from mandating vaccine mandates for COVID-19.

“The main goal and one of the catalyst behind my action was to ensure that people would not be losing their jobs,” explained the governor. “Let me be very clear about this, neither the President of the United States nor the federal government have any legal authority, any Constitutional authority, to issue their vaccine mandate.”

According to Abbott, the federal government is acting illegally by enforcing vaccine mandates. He intends to continue standing his ground on the controversial issue.
