A fully vaccinated New York Yankee’s Coach Phil Nevin tests positive for COVID-19. Team Manager Aaron Boone announced Tuesday that the third base coach had received the diagnosis and was under quarantine in Tampa, Florida.

A handful of other staff members are also being watched, though have yet to test positive for the coronavirus. Boone said the team is well equipped to deal with a positive test and is looking to press on.

“Major League Baseball and their doctors are advising us,” he stated. “We have certainly planned this stuff and troubleshooted all this stuff and these kind of scenarios.”

So far, no players have tested positive for COVID-19 with the Yankees winning Tuesday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays in a three-to-one victory.
