The Biden administration is threatening to veto any congressional resolutions to outlaw its vaccine mandates. On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the vaccine mandate for private sector businesses is necessary because of the Omicron variant.

She also attacked GOP senators and some Democrats behind the push to outlaw the mandate by calling them “the anti-vaccine and testing crowd.” All 50 Senate Republicans along with Democrat  Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and others expressed opposition to the mandate. Earlier in the day, a district court in Georgia blocked Biden’s mandate for federal contractors in all 50 states.

A recent poll by the Wall Street Journal found 47 percent of Americans oppose Biden’s vaccine mandate. This comes as Republicans warn Biden’s veto of a likely congressional resolution would further erode the American democracy and push the country closer to a rule by decree.
