A spokesperson for Amber Heard released a statement Wednesday, blasting Johnny Depp after a report he would not appear in the courtroom when the verdict in the defamation case is read.

Depp is suing Heard for $50 million over alleged defamation stemming from a domestic violence Washington Post op-ed penned by Heard in 2018. The “Aquaman” actress has countersued for $100 million.

“Your presence shows where your priorities are,” a spokesperson for Heard said, CBR.com reported. “Johnny Depp plays guitar in the UK while Amber Heard waits for a verdict in Virginia. Depp is taking his snickering and lack of seriousness on tour.”

Court TV legal correspondent Chanley Shá Painter reported Wednesday that Depp would not be present for the verdict: “As a source close to Johnny Depp – ‘Due to previously scheduled work commitments made before the trial, Mr. Depp will not be physically present for today’s 3pm verdict and will be watching from the United Kingdom.’”

Depp was notably spotted this weekend in the U.K., jamming alongside guitar legend Jeff Beck.

Jurors have reached a verdict, which will be read to the court on Wednesday at 3 pm ET.
