President Joe Biden’s approval rating dropped yet again in a new Rasmussen poll that revealed 58% of Americans disapprove of the president’s job performance.

“The latest figures include 20% who Strongly Approve of the job Biden is doing and 48% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -28,” according to the Thursday daily Presidential Tracking Report.

According to the organization, the number nearly matched Biden’s all-time low in the daily tracking poll.

“The 2020 midterm elections are now 327 days away, and Republicans maintain a strong lead in their bid to recapture control of Congress,” the Rasmussen Reports Twitter post added.

The 58% disapproval rating nearly matched Biden’s lowest number of 59% last noted on November 24. Both numbers are a large drop from Biden’s lowest rating of 45% disapproval on January 21, just one day after the president began his term.

Among those who disapproved of Biden’s performance, 48% strongly disapproved. In contrast, just 20% strongly approved of the president’s performance in the latest poll.

One issue of concern reported in another recent poll by the organization is violent crime.

When asked, “Which party do you trust more to deal with the problem of violent crime, Democrats or Republicans?” Republicans outranked Democrats 46% to 15% among unaffiliated voters.

A majority of both men and women, as well as all political parties, agreed in the poll that crime is getting worse in the nation.

Though Democrats ranked lowest among political segments, more than half (55%) agreed violent crime is getting worse. Among all voters, 68% agreed.

The results of the violent crime survey, released on Wednesday, added in its summary, “An overwhelming majority of voters are increasingly concerned about violent crime and, by a wide margin, they trust Republicans more than Democrats to deal with the problem.”

The violent crime survey of 1,000 likely voters was conducted on December 13-14, 2021. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence, the organization reported.
