President Joe Biden has been pushing for a massive expenditure from Americans to pay for his student loan forgiveness plan, and he is reportedly doing so at the behest of failed Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams and Democrat Georgia senator Raphael Warnock.

On Wednesday, Biden’s Department of Education canceled roughly $5.8 billion in outstanding student loans for over 560,000 borrowers; the largest single loan forgiveness action ever taken by the Department of Education.

“This is the fault of Stacey Abrams and Raphael Warnock,” James Hohmann of The Washington Post said of Biden’s push for student loan forgiveness.

“In April, the Department of Education extended the pause on student loan repayment, interest and collections through Aug. 31, 2022,” CNBC pointed out, adding, “Michelle Dimino, a senior education policy leader at Third Way, predicts the payment pause will be extended yet again through the end of the year, at least until after the midterm elections.”

“We’re going to continue to monitor it,” Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona said in April. “Right now, we have August 31 and as you’ve seen in the past, we’ve been comfortable moving that date if needed.”

“How did they not get this? … You look at the states — like Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio — what percentage of the population has college degrees?” radio host Charlie Sykes asked Hohmann. “And yet you are asking all of those people who are experiencing high anxiety to pay for this transfer of wealth. … I mean, seriously, where does Joe Biden think this groundswell is going to come from, except for this small group of highly-entitled college graduates who dominate the staffing and the inner workings of the Democratic party?”

“I’ve asked; I’ve repeatedly asked people. And I’ve asked a lot of people in the White House this question, and essentially the answer is that this is the fault of Stacey Abrams and Raphael Warnock,” Hohmann answered, as National Review noted.

“Stacey Abrams has been browbeating the White House on this, and says that this is the only way she could win — that this is going to be a base turnout election,” Hohmann explained. “This isn’t about persuading people in the middle, it’s about getting the base to turn out. And the base isn’t going to turn out if they don’t do this, and that they have all sorts of stats about how a lot of graduates from HBCUs have all this debt.”

“And so there are a lot of people very close to the president who privately understand that this is a complete disaster for them,” Hohmann asserted. “But the president is being pulled really hard by these woke leftists who … believe it’s all about the base. They just don’t get it because they haven’t spent time in the WOW counties or in Apple Valley, Minnesota.”
