Far-left Chilean President Gabriel Boric announced during a speech last week his intent to completely ban his citizen’s ability to protect themselves by owning firearms.
Boric, whose ruling coalition includes members of Chile’s Communist Party, made the remarks on Wednesday during his first televised speech.
“I want everyone listening to us to know that gun violence will not be tolerated in our country,” he said, according to a translation provided to The Daily Wire. “And that’s why our ‘Fewer Guns, More Safety’ program proposes a radical limitation on their legal access. And from now I’m asking you, this honorable Congress, all of your support to approve a law that allows us to advance toward a total ban on gun ownership.”

Boric’s extremist push on restricting the ability to own a gun in his country comes as far-left Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, a communist sympathizer, announced late last month a push to ban the sale of handguns.
“New gun control legislation the federal government tabled today includes a national freeze on the purchase, sale, importation and transfer of handguns in Canada — the government’s most ambitious attempt yet to restrict access to firearms in this country,” the CBC reported. “While the proposal falls short of a full ban on handguns, it would effectively limit the number of them in Canada.”
Trudeau claimed that the gun violence was on the rise so that meant it was his “duty to keep taking action.”
“Last summer, during the campaign, some politicians said they would make assault style weapons legal again,” Trudeau said. “Not only did we stand up to them, but we promised to go even further to protect our communities. We proposed to invest to help provinces and territories put restrictions on handguns within their jurisdictions.”
“However, in our discussions with law enforcement advocates and experts, it became apparent that we needed a different solution,” he continued. “We’re introducing legislation to implement a national freeze on handgun ownership. What this means is that it will no longer be possible to buy, sell, transfer or import handguns anywhere in Canada. In other words, we’re capping the market for handguns.”
Trudeau previously used efforts to implement new gun control measures to distract from his blackface scandal in which photos emerged that showed him on multiple occasions wearing racist blackface.
Trudeau’s remarks come after Democrat President Joe Biden appeared to take aim at handguns Monday on Memorial Day, claiming that a 9mm bullet, which is the most popular handgun caliber, “blows the lung out of the body.”
Biden called for clamping down on Americans’ constitutionally protected Second Amendment rights during a speech on Thursday night following last week’s tragic shooting in Uvalde, Texas.
“This isn’t about taking away anyone’s rights,” Biden claimed before rattling off a list of ways that he wanted to take away people’s Second Amendment rights.
Biden called for banning semi-automatic long guns, which are extremely popular in the United States, banning what he claimed were “high-capacity magazines,” enacting red flag laws that strip Americans of due process, and going after gun manufacturers.
“We need to ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines,” Biden said. “And if we can’t ban assault weapons, then we should raise the age to purchase them from 18 to 21, strengthen the background checks.”
Raising the age needed to buy firearms would not have stopped nine of the 10 worst mass shootings in U.S. history as all of the shooters, except for two, were 21-years-old or older. Of the two shooters who were under 21, one of them, the man responsible for the Sandy Hook shooting, stole the weapons that he used from his parents.
Biden politicized recent tragedies to attack Republican lawmakers while his administration has struggled to manage numerous crises that have erupted under his leadership, including the crisis at the southern border, baby formula shortage, skyrocketing inflation, soaring fuel costs, and so on.
Biden’s call for restricting the rights of law abiding Americans comes as his own son, Hunter Biden, has been accused of committing a felony by lying on a background check form to illegally purchase a firearm.
“Hunter Biden lied on a Form 4473 to illegally purchase a gun, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison & a $250K fine,” attorney Arthur Schwartz tweeted. “His girlfriend then dumped that gun in the trash next to a school. He wasn’t even arrested. Why don’t we enforce existing laws before demanding new ones?”
