Fox News host Harris Faulkner laid into Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff following reports that his motorcade had blocked access to handicapped parking spaces.

Faulkner discussed the situation with her cohosts on the network’s midday panel show, “Outnumbered,” and suggested that it was proof that “liberal privilege” was a real thing — and it extended to Emhoff, the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris.

“It looks like you can add the vice president’s husband to the liberal privilege list,” cohost Emily Compagno said as she introduced the video clip. “New video showing his motorcade hogging several handicap parking spots while he leisurely shopped at Whole Foods in Brentwood, California. When the second gentleman left the supermarket, he even stopped to say hello to his fans.”

The video showed the two black Chevy Suburbans — which comprise Emhoff’s motorcade — parked diagonally across the handicapped spaces in front of a Whole Foods in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles. The two vehicles remained parked there, blocking access to the handicapped spots for some 20 minutes while Emhoff shopped and picked up dry-cleaning.

He told a bystander that he was “doing good” as he returned to one of the vehicles and climber in — at which point the drivers briefly hit the lights and sirens prior to leaving the parking lot.

Emhoff and his motorcade were on the wrong side of California’s vehicle code, however, which states that “it is unlawful for any person to park or leave standing any vehicle in a stall or space designated for disabled persons and disabled veterans … unless the vehicle displays either a special identification license plate … or a distinguishing placard.”

“I think this is one of those just grab the privilege and ride it home, cowboy,” Faulkner remarked during Monday’s broadcast. “Like, I just don’t think they think deep enough to something that his wife might have said earlier about, you know, giving an advantage to those who might need it at a time, that sort of thing.”

Faulkner went on to say that she didn’t believe Emhoff or his staffers had parked there with any malicious intent — but that they had likely just failed to recognize just how bad the optics might be. “I really don’t think it was mean-spirited, but it is one other thing that’s politically dangerous. It’s oblivious.”
