Most celebrities have remained silent on the growing crime surge in major cities as officials either de-criminalize theft and assault, or arrest and quickly release suspects with little or no bail. But one actor called out the crime he saw happening firsthand.

Michael Rapaport posted an indignant video Tuesday after he witnessed a shoplifter openly filling a bag with stolen merchandise at a New York City Rite Aid. He shared a video of the alleged criminal committing theft and filmed a response in real-time.

“I can’t believe I’m seeing this s***,” Rapaport says in a video he shared with 2 million followers on Instagram. The footage depicted the suspect walking past a security officer, who did not attempt to apprehend the alleged shoplifter.

“This f**ing guy just filled his two bags up with everything in Rite Aid, right here on 80th [Street] and First Avenue, is walking down the street like s*** is Gucci. Looking me in my face like, ‘What’s good?’ I was watching him the whole time,” the actor continued.

“My man just went Christmas shopping in January. He had the condoms, the shampoo,” Rapaport said.

Next, the “Prison Break” alum took aim at the city’s policies and officials who seem to have turned a blind eye to these types of crimes.

“You see all these videos on Instagram of people shoplifting like they’re going for a walk in the park. It’s pathetic that this is happening in the greatest city in the world,” Rapaport said in the Instagram video.

“I’m TRIPPING this happened in broad day like it was nothing. I was just informed this Rite Aid is closing 2/15 because of this, leaving the workers JOBLESS,” the actor put in the video caption. He also tagged NYC Democratic Mayor Eric Adams in the post.

Fellow celebrity Mario Lopez commented on the post, saying, “Dude looked at Security and said… ‘Sup?’”

Rapaport may wish to see law and order restored in NYC. But that doesn’t mean he identifies as conservative. The next day, the actor posted another video which affirmed which side of the political aisle he falls on.

The “Justified” actor followed up with an Instagram post urging President Biden not to apologize to Fox reporter Peter Doocy, who the president called a “stupid son of a b****” during a White House event on Monday.

“Yo my man, cadaver Joe Biden, smokin’ Joe Biden – yo, don’t apologize to these motherf***ers. Talk more sh**,” Rapaport said. The actor then came up with explicit names for Fox News personalities Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, and Sean Hannity.

“Talk sh**, Joe Biden,” he continued. “That’s what we want. That’s what we need. Don’t apologize to these motherf***ing worms.”

Rapaport appears to be filming the video on the city streets he was just complaining about.

An increase in retail theft is affecting high-end retailers as well as drugstores and other stores with lower-priced merchandise. The Daily Wire reported that CVS announced that it will close around 900 retail locations over the next three years, which amounts to about 9% of its 10,000 stores. This move could partially be attributed to increased theft.

Rite Aid will be closing 63 stores in order to reduce costs and boost profitability.
