Supermodel Kate Moss met up with Johnny Depp over the weekend, days after giving testimony in defense of her ex-boyfriend during a defamation trial with actress Amber Heard, Depp’s ex-wife.
Depp is suing Heard for $50 million over alleged defamation stemming from a domestic violence Washington Post op-ed penned by Heard in 2018. The “Aquaman” actress has countersued for $100 million.
“Kate Moss was alone as she exited London’s Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday evening, shortly after reuniting with ex-boyfriend Johnny Depp backstage following his cameo performance with rock legend Jeff Beck,” a Daily Mail report said, adding that the two were “partying” backstage.
Moss took the stand in the Depp/Heard trial last Wednesday, telling the court that Depp never pushed her down any stairs, seemingly contradicting earlier testimony from Heard.
“We were leaving the room, and Johnny left the room before I did, and there had been a rainstorm,” Moss recalled on the stand, discussing a Jamaican vacation she took with then-boyfriend Depp during the 1990s. “And as I left the room, I slipped down the stairs and I hurt my back.”
“And I scream … because I didn’t know what happened to me,” the model continued, speaking via videoconference. “I was in pain and he [Depp] came running back to help me and carried me to my room and got me medical attention.”
“Did Mr. Depp in any way push you down the stairs?” Depp lawyer Ben Chew asked Moss.
“No,” she responded.
“During the course of your relationship, did he ever push you down any stairs?”
“No,” Moss said. “He never pushed me, kicked me, or threw me down any stairs.”
Moss’ quick, clean testimony was notably not challenged by Heard’s team, which turned down an opportunity to cross-examine the model.
While awaiting a verdict in the defamation case, Depp jammed with guitar legend Jeff Beck for a gig in the U.K.
“The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor took the stage at Sheffield City Hall Sunday night with Beck to perform several songs, including Marvin Gaye’s ‘What’s Goin’ On’ and John Lennon’s ‘Isolation,’ and Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Little Wing,’” The Daily Wire reported. “The pair recently released a single of their version of the former Beatle’s song. Playing a white Fender Telecaster, Depp, who previously fronted his own band, sang the classic covers.”
Day three of jury deliberations commenced Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. in Fairfax, Virginia.
