Reacting to the atmospheric change on Twitter since the advent of the Elon Musk era, Fox News Meteorologist Janice Dean, whose relentless and determined pursuit of former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo for his nursing home scandal made her a beloved figure among conservatives but also a target of leftists, celebrated on Thursday, “People have been much nicer on twitter the last few days. Many of the trolls have crawled back into their caves.”

In June 2020, Dean, whose husband tragically lost both his parents to COVID-19, slammed CNN for a nine-minute interview with Cuomo in which they never asked him about the state’s prior policy on returning nursing home residents to their homes even if they had the virus.

Dean tweeted, “@CNN doesn’t ask @NYGovCuomo about nursing home deaths. Shame on @PoppyHarlowCNN and @jimsciutto. Bravo to @SRuhle on @MSNBC for being a journalist.”

She followed by tweeting, “How hard is it to ask the question about 6,000+ New York seniors that were sitting ducks thanks to @NYGov Cuomo’s order to contaminate nursing homes with Covid positive patients? What if it was 6,000 kids? Would that make a difference? It shouldn’t. Do your job @CNN.”

Dean continued, “Actually I amend this tweet. I don’t think @NYGovCuomo has EVER been asked the nursing home death question on @CNN. So Jim and Poppy would’ve broken new ground over there had they asked it.”

In October 2020, appearing on NBC’s “Today” show, Cuomo discussed his new book, “American Crisis,” that spoke of his “hard-won lessons in leadership and his vision for the path forward.” During the interview, Cuomo likened the COVID-19 pandemic to a sporting event, claiming, “The game isn’t over.”

Cuomo’s comments enraged Dean, who fired on Twitter: “Profiting on the deaths of over 30,000 New Yorkers. … Also, the governor refers to the pandemic and the deaths of our loved ones (as) ‘a game.’”

In December 2020, speaking at a press conference, Cuomo, seemingly unconscious of how many New Yorkers had died from the virus during his tenure, stated:

There’s going to be a time when people turn around and say, “Why did 57 people die and why did we have more people die than anywhere else?” You don’t want to answer that question, and the answer can’t be because we played politics.

Then he turned to how great his holiday was going to be, boasting; “So. A healthy holiday, and I’m going to have a great one.  Santa’s going to be very good to me; I can tell. I worked hard this year.”

Cuomo’s blithe statement triggered a blunt reply from Dean, who fired back, “Worked hard to help kill seniors, jobs and New York State in general?”
