Many fans see Elon Musk as a shrewd businessman and brilliant innovator, but even he had a weakness for Amber Heard’s charms as the two engaged in a brief romantic partnership. More details about their union emerged during Johnny Depp’s defamation trial against Heard.
According to Fox News, Musk’s communications with Heard, including text messages, were subpoenaed as part of the investigation. The world’s richest man will not be called upon to testify in the trial, his attorney confirmed.
During the trial, Depp testified that Heard cheated on him with Musk beginning one month after their wedding. Court documents allege that Musk visited Depp’s penthouse “late at night” while the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor was not at home. The 50-year-old Tesla founder was also given parking garage access, Fox reported.
“Musk’s first appearance in Mr. Depp’s penthouse occurred shortly after Ms. Heard threw a vodka bottle at Mr. Depp in Australia, when she learned that Mr. Depp wanted the couple to enter into a post-nuptial agreement concerning assets in their marriage. Ms. Heard’s violently aimed projectile virtually severed Mr. Depp’s middle finger on his right hand and shattered the bones,” court documents state.
A representative for Musk denied that Musk and Heard’s relationship overlapped with her marriage to Depp.
“Elon and Amber didn’t start seeing each other until May 2016, and even then it was infrequent. Their relationship didn’t become romantic until some time later,” the statement said, according to Vanity Fair.
Talent agent Christian Carino shared the contents of text messages exchanged with Heard after she and Musk ended their relationship.
“I hate when things go public,” Heard wrote in one text to Carino in August 2017 that was read during his deposition, per The Daily Beast.
“You weren’t in love with him and you told me a thousand times you were just filling space,” Carino replied.
The talent agent also testified that Heard would get “mad” whenever men left her. Carino further advised Heard that she should stop dating famous men if she didn’t want the relationships to go public.
“Why would you be sad about the breakup if you weren’t in love with him?” Carino asked Heard in a separate message.
Previously, the “Aquaman” alum spoke fondly of her time with Musk.
“Elon and I had a beautiful relationship, and we have a beautiful friendship now, one that was based on our core values,” Heard told The Hollywood Reporter during a 2018 interview. “We just bonded on a lot of things that speak to who I am on the inside. I have so much respect for him.”
They allegedly connected on matters of, “Intellectual curiosity, ideas and conversation, a shared love for science.”
