According to The Daily Mail, Joe Biden’s financial filings show that he declared roughly $7 million more income on his tax returns than what he claimed on his government transparency reports. Although part of the discrepancy can be attributed to money his wife earned, over $5 million that Biden’s company earned is not listed in the transparency reports.
Joe Biden has asserted that he never discussed his son Hunter’s business dealings with his son, yet emails from Hunter’s laptop show his father agreed to pay Hunter’s legal fees, including a deal with the government-controlled Bank of China.
Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI), who has been investigating Hunter Biden’s business dealings, reacted to the news of the missing millions of dollars, declaring that they are “another disturbing piece of information that raises questions that deserve answers.”
Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), who is working with Johnson, echoed, “Evidence of the president’s financial and business connections to Hunter continues to grow. It’s imperative for the first family to show the American people the transparency that they deserve.”
“When will the corporate media start doing their job and ask President Biden these questions?’ Johnson added. “And when will President Biden start being honest with the public? The American people deserve the truth.”
Other emails on the laptop suggest Joe Biden might have had a 10% share in Hunter’s deal.
Hunter’s assistant Katie Dodge wrote an email in January 2019 to book-keeper Linda Shapero and Biden aide Richard Ruffner saying, ‘I spoke with Hunter today regarding his bills. It is my understanding that Hunt’s dad will cover these bills in the short-term as Hunter transitions in his career.’”
“The assistant attached a spreadsheet of bills with the email, totaling $737,130.61,” The Daily Mail noted, adding, “One of the last items was $28,000 in legal fees for the ‘restructuring’ of Hunter’s joint venture with the government-controlled Bank of China. The spreadsheet listed the bill as ‘Faegre Baker Daniels: BHR Restructuring’ costing $28,382 and due ‘ASAP.’”
Between 2017 and 2019 Joe and Jill Biden’s federal tax returns reported $16.5 million in gross income most of which was derived from CelticCapri Corp and Giacoppa Corp. Those corporations were related to their for speaking and writing engagements. Yet their Office of Government Ethics (OGE) fillings for the same period show them reporting $9.6 million in income.
Joe Biden’s Office of Government Ethics (OGE) filings from 2017-2020 show his CelticCapri Corporation with an income of a total income of $8,065,464. Yet his federal tax return from 2017-2019 show a total income from the company of $13,245,535, a difference of $5,180,071.
Earlier this month the White House stated that Biden’s 2021 tax return disclosure was “once again demonstrating his commitment to being transparent with the American people about the finances of the commander in chief.”
