A majority of Americans across the political spectrum support public funding for pro-life pregnancy resource centers, according to a new poll from CRC Research–showing how out of touch Democrats’ rabid push to stifle pro-life clinics is from the average, compassionate American voter.
The online survey of 1,600 participants conducted earlier this month shows overall 64 percent of Americans support public funding of these centers for mothers, including 70 percent of Democrats.
After the survey participants were asked to read statements explaining the services pregnancy centers provide to women—such as prenatal care, housing, clothing and diapers, and empowerment to choose life—overall support rose to 74 percent. This included a jump to 73 percent of Democrats.
The poll also highlights overwhelming support for public funding from independents and Republicans, with 72 percent and 78 percent in favor after reading the statements on pregnancy center and maternity home services, respectively.
After pollsters called attention to the increase in vandalized pregnancy centers and churches as a result of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson decision, 80 percent of survey participants agreed that those involved “should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
This data starkly shows how out of touch with Americans are pro-abortion Democrats like Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., who has pushed for a crackdown on these resource centers on a federal level.
“We need to shut ‘em down here in Massachusetts, and we need to shut ‘em down all around the country,” Warren said of pregnancy resource centers last month.
Democrats on Capitol Hill are also pushing to collude with Big Tech entities to advance their vendetta against clinics that help women raise their babies. According to a press release from Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, “Google has also come under pressure from pro-abortion Democrats to exclude pregnancy centers from its search results.” In June, a group of Democrat senators sent a letter to Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google’s parent company Alphabet, calling pro-life maternal care centers “fake clinics” and asking Google to bury information about such clinics in search results.
In a statement, Community Outreach Director for Her PLAN Jill Stanek noted the significance of the “over 2,700 pregnancy centers and maternity homes nationwide that offer hope and help to moms and babies.”
“With an average client satisfaction rate of 99%,” Stanek continued, “pregnancy centers and maternity homes stand ready to continue their vital, life-affirming work, empowering women to choose life, encouraging them to pursue their dreams, and walking alongside them every step of the way – even years down the road.”
According to data from the Charlotte Lozier Institute, 2,700 pregnancy centers–making 14 centers for every one Planned Parenthood in our nation–provided services for almost 2 million individuals in 2019, with a value of almost $270 million “at virtually no charge” to those in need. These services included pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, diapers, baby outfits, educational programs, and STI/STD testing.
Additionally, 68,832 individuals served at pregnancy resource centers, 53,855 of whom were volunteers. The Institute estimates that “since 2016, more than 800,000 lives have been saved through pregnancy centers’ community-based care.”
