The countdown is on and the wait is almost over. Daily Wire Entertainment’s newest project, “The Hyperions,” will be available for audiences beginning Thursday, March 10. That’s good news for anyone who misses quality entertainment the way it used to be.

“The Hyperions” is a fun, quirky indie comedy that defies expectations by telling a quietly heartfelt story on the power of familial bonds. It’s immersed in 1970s nostalgia and quality acting, but the most exciting thing about this movie is the complete lack of a political agenda. The movie tells a good story that’s meant to entertain with zero ulterior motives. It’s a Hollywood movie that recalls how things used to be.

The comedy stars A-lister Cary Elwes (“The Princess Bride,” “Robin Hood Men in Tights”) as Professor Ruckus Mandulbaum. The professor invented the Titan badge device in 1960 that turned a trio of teens into adored superheroes. That’s when things went awry.

According to the press release, “The quartet soon became a global phenomenon. Over time, though, the group had a falling-out and Professor Ruckus replaced the three original Hyperions with a cadre of new teens. By 1979, two of the Hyperions wanted their Titan badges back and went through great lengths to recover them, including robbing the professor’s museum and inadvertently taking a few hostages along the way.”

“The Hyperions” doesn’t attempt to compete with big-budget Marvel blockbusters with millions to spend on special effects. Instead, “Hyperions” focuses big on character development all under the skilled direction of Jon McDonald, who appears in the movie.

“The key theme of the film is the importance of family, no matter how imperfect that dynamic might be,” reviewer Slade Hale writes, noting the film’s nuanced storytelling.

Besides Elwes and McDonald, the all-star cast includes Penelope Mitchell (“Hellboy”), Tanner Buchanan (“Cobra Kai”), Elaine Tan (“Tully”), and Alphonso McAuley (“Walk of Shame”). Each offers a unique element that contributes to the overall narrative, which focuses on the importance of family and forgiveness.

“The Hyperions” is completely different from Daily Wire Entertainment’s most recent thriller, “Shut In,” and neither of those are similar to the first film released, “Run Hide Fight.” It’s also not like the Western drama “Terror on the Prairie” starring Gina Carano, which is coming this summer. Each is special and impactful in its own way.

“The Hyperions” will premiere for everyone to enjoy on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at 8:30 p.m. ET on the Daily Wire YouTube channel. After the premiere, it will be available exclusively for Daily Wire members to stream on DailyWire.com.
