After all the drama, all the hot takes, all the cryptic social media messages, Aaron Rodgers is remaining in a Green Bay Packers uniform.
Pat McAfee, whom Rodgers has consistently joined throughout the season on “The Pat McAfee Show,” was first to break the news.

Much has been made of Rodgers’ future since the Packers lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Divisional Playoffs, after which Rodgers made it clear that he had no interest in being part of a rebuild in Green Bay.
“I’d like to thank the Green Bay Packers, Mark, Brian, Russ, and our incredible fanbase,” Rodgers said after winning his fourth MVP award. “It’s been an amazing 17 years. So thankful for the memories and moments over the years.”
And now, the show goes on.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Rodgers is signing a four-year $200 million contract to remain in Green Bay. However, Rodgers later said that the reports of the contract were “inaccurate.”
“Hey everyone, just wanted to clear some things up; YES I will be playing with the [Packers] next year, however, reports about me signing a contract are inaccurate, as are the supposed terms of the contract I ‘signed.’ I’m very excited to be back,” Rodgers posted to Twitter.

It’s been one wild year for Rodgers. Heading into the 2021 NFL season, we hadn’t heard from Rodgers in months, only hearing through the grapevine that he was unhappy with the Packers organization, leading many to believe his days in a Green Bay uniform were numbered. Then, he showed up for training camp, aired his frustrations with the organization in a press conference rarely seen in sports, and got to work.
Rodgers threw for 4,115 yards, 37 touchdowns, and just four interceptions., finishing the year with the league’s best touchdown to interception ratio and leading the league in QBR (69.2). But it was the off-the-field drama, beginning even before the start of the regular season, that made Rodgers’ season so unique.
In November, Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19, which informed the world that he was unvaccinated due to the amount of time he was required to sit out. He was hammered in the media for “misleading” the public regarding his vaccination status, after telling reporters in August that he was “immunized” against the virus.
That drama led to many rooting against the soon-to-be first ballot Hall of Famer, with one MVP voter going so far as refusing to vote for Rodgers due to him being the “the biggest jerk in the league.”
“I don’t think you can be the biggest jerk in the league and punish your team, and your organization and your fan base the way he did and be the Most Valuable Player,” Hub Arkush said on 670 The Score in Chicago. “Has he been the most valuable on the field? Yeah, you could make that argument, but I don’t think he is clearly that much more valuable than Jonathan Taylor or Cooper Kupp or maybe even Tom Brady. So, from where I sit, the rest of it is why he’s not gonna be my choice.”
But that’s all in the past now, as Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst attempts to put together a roster around Rodgers that’s good enough to get Rodgers to his second Super Bowl.
The next move for Green Bay will be securing Rodgers favorite target, Davante Adams.
As reported by Rapoport on Tuesday, the Packers are expected to put the franchise tag on Adams, giving the duo at least one year together.
Thanks to the new cap room, the #Packers are expected to franchise tag WR Davante Adams. https://t.co/H4GeatDNpm

Rodgers will once again be throwing his precise passes at Lambeau Field, and hopefully, filling our timelines with some deep takes.
