Podcast host Joe Rogan said last week that he offered to train SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk to fight Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Rogan, who holds black belts in taekwondo and two schools of Jiu-Jitsu, told Australian comedian Monty Franklin that he had reached out to Musk after reading that he had challenged Putin to a one-on-one fight for Ukraine.

“Elon Musk wants — he wants to fight Putin. Have you seen that?” Rogan asked. “I offered my services. I texted him. I said, ‘Dude I will arrange all of your training.’ ‘If you really do fight Putin,’ I said, ‘I will arrange all your training. It would be so f***ing epic.”

Franklin asked whether Rogan knew what kind of fight Musk meant: “Are they fighting full martial arts, or doing boxing, or?”

“I would say martial arts. You’d have to do martial arts,” Rogan replied. “You’d have to, like, an MMA fight. It’s 2022. Y’know, f*** the boxing.”

Musk posted an open challenge to the Russian dictator on March 14, saying, “I hereby challenge Vladimir Putin to single combat. Stakes are Ukraine. Do you agree to this fight?”

Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao was quick to say that he would like to see Musk win that fight, but he questioned the Tesla CEO’s ability to follow through with his challenge.

“Brother, I wish for you to win of course, but the reality is I haven’t seen your kong fu video,” he tweeted.

Musk responded with a photo of himself fighting a sumo wrestler, commenting, “Managed to throw him, but it cost me smashing my c5-c6 disc & 8 years of mega back pain! Finally, fixed with c5-c6 disc fusion.”

Rogan mentioned Musk’s fight with the sumo wrestler and the injury he apparently sustained. “According to him, he had some match with a world champion sumo wrestler back in the day for fun, and he f***ed his neck up, like, throwing this guy outside of the ring. But he actually defeated some world champion sumo wrestler,” he said.

“If anybody else who’s a billionaire told me that I would be like ‘f*** you – shut up’. But he’s not a liar,” Rogan continued. “He’s so f***ing smart, he might be able to figure out how to do it.”

Musk has also previously intervened in Ukraine following Russia’s invasion — which is still ongoing — providing SpaceX’s Starlink satellite broadband service to help get internet service to those who remained in Ukraine.

As The Daily Wire reported:

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk was praised on Saturday for responding to the Ukrainian government’s plea to provide SpaceX’s Starlink satellite broadband service so that Ukrainian’s could access the internet as Russian military forces invaded the country.

Musk made the remark on social media in response to a tweet from Mykhailo Fedorov, the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, who tweeted: “@elonmusk, while you try to colonize Mars — Russia try to occupy Ukraine! While your rockets successfully land from space — Russian rockets attack Ukrainian civil people! We ask you to provide Ukraine with Starlink stations and to address sane Russians to stand.”

“Starlink service is now active in Ukraine,” Musk responded. “More terminals en route.”
