On Sunday, CNN’s Jake Tapper ended his “State of the Union” show with a monologue in which he excoriated organizations that bend over backward for Communist China, including the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Nike, the NBA, Disney, and Apple.

Tapper began with the continuing story of Chinese Tennis star Peng Shuai, who, after alleging that a “former top Chinese government official” sexually assaulted her, was disappeared, and her social media post regarding the alleged assault erased.

The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) “not only spoke out against this injustice, it decided to suspend all tournaments in China because of its treatment of Peng Shuai,” Tapper stated.

The host then compared the courage of the WTA to the IOC, which Tapper said is “helping the Chinese government by providing them cover.” The IOC has claimed that it held video calls with Peng, but would not release footage or “even a transcript.”

“The IOC is behaving like a mob lawyer,” Tapper said, later adding that the Trump and Biden administrations “have asserted that China is committing … genocide and crimes against humanity against more than one million Uyghurs, ethnic Kazakhs, Hui, other Muslims, some Christians, in internment camps, or converted detention facilities, according to the U.S. State Department.”

The host continued, detailing the allegations against the Chinese government, such as forced sterilization of detained women and coerced abortions. Tapper then pivoted, noting the possibility that some Christmas gifts this year will have been “made at least in part” using “Uyghur forced labor.”

“Apple and Nike publicly claim to decry slave labor. But to be clear, the behavior we are seeing from U.S. corporations is not about a company surviving, it’s about discontent with just hundreds of millions of dollars, desiring instead billions of dollars,” Tapper said before playing a clip in which Ray Dalio of Bridgewater Associates compared the Chinese regime to a “strict parent.”

Tapper then struck Disney and Paramount, noting the concessions made in certain films to appease China.

Showing a screenshot of the credits for 2020’s “Mulan,” Tapper said: “Here’s Disney in the credits for ‘Mulan’ thanking the publicity department of the Chinese Communist Party, in Xinjiang, where the cultural genocide is happening.”

The host also cited a recent example of censorship in which an episode of “The Simpsons” critical of China was wiped from the Disney+ service in Hong Kong.

Tapper concluded his monologue with a killing blow:

That “Simpsons” episode in Hong Kong disappeared like Peng Shuai disappeared like citizen journalist Zhang Zhan, whom the Chinese government has locked up for telling the truth about COVID-19, disappeared like the consciences of the millionaires and billionaires in Hollywood and the NBA and the IOC and Wall Street, who are all so eager for Chinese cash, they are pretending none of this is happening. There is no amount of money that can buy enough soap to wash that blood off their hands.

Tapper is just the latest public figure to denounce the Chinese Communist Party’s brutality, and rebuke the companies whose leaders look the other way.

Celtics player Enes Kanter Freedom has been repeatedly castigating China over their human rights abuses, referring to Chinese President Xi Jinping as a “dictator,” and standing in solidarity with Taiwan against Chinese aggression.

Kanter recently laid into NBA star LeBron James. In 2019, James was critical of then-Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey after Morey tweeted in support of Hong Kong.

“…I believe he wasn’t educated on the situation at hand and he spoke,” James said after Morey’s tweet. “So many people could have been harmed, not only financially, but physically, emotionally, and spiritually. So just be careful what we tweet and say and we do, even though, yes, we do have freedom of speech, but there can be a lot of negative that comes with that, too.”

Kanter has even worn a custom pair of sneakers in which LeBron James can be seen kneeling before Xi Jinping.

“Money over Morals for the ‘King,’” Kanter tweeted alongside photos of the custom sneakers. “Sad & disgusting how these athletes pretend they care about social justice. They really do ‘shut up & dribble’ when Big Boss [China] says so. Did you educate yourself about the slave labor that made your shoes or is that not part of your research?”
