On December 26, the Chinese state-backed Global Times celebrated the birth of communist dictator and mass murderer, Mao Zedong.

“Let’s recall a warm and powerful smile on the 128th anniversary of the birth of late CPC leader [Mao Zedong],” the Times tweeted.

“Today is the 128th anniversary of the birth of the revered late CPC leader Mao Zedong,” the outlet tweeted in an additional post. “He led the Chinese people to change their destiny. ‘The people, and the people alone, are the driving force in the making of the world’s history,’ Chairman Mao once said.”

The state-run media outlet was immediately condemned on social media for celebrating the genocidal ruler who imposed the “Great Leap Forward,” resulting in the deaths of tens of millions of his own people.

“REMINDER: Mao killed approximately 65 MILLION people,” Steve Guest said.

“Did you know Mao’s favorite form of torture was The Tiger Seat? Poor soul would be seated with his legs stretched out and tied down straight in front of him. Then his feet would slowly be raised until his knees broke and bent the wrong way. Mao famously liked to watch it happen,” Jesse Kelly responded.

“Specifically, he herded rural Chinese people onto communal farms so he could mass harvest grain to sell abroad,” Kelly added. “That of course, failed. But because he was a communist he didn’t blame himself. He blamed the sparrows. He had them slaughtered. This led to mass famine and death.”

“Mao’s only positive contribution to humanity was as worm food,” Dana Loesch tweeted. “To hell with commies.”

“Of course Twitter allows Chinese Communist Party propaganda on its platform [including] the celebration of a mass murdering monster. The same Twitter that banned a sitting US president,” Rita Panahi replied.

“‘Warm and powerful smile’ that left 40 million dead,” Emily Schrader said.

“Imagine posting this with Hitler’s face,” Hannah Cox tweeted. “Same difference. Communism has been as deadly and evil as fascism, every time, all of the time.”

“A murderous Communist dictator but OK,” Ned Ryun tweeted.

“[Mao Zedong] was a mass murderer, a tyrant, pure evil,” Arsen Ostrovsky said.

“Hitler, Stalin, Mao, & Pol Pot were probably the four biggest monsters of the 20th century — and the state-run propaganda arms of a country that wants to usurp America worships one of them,” Jerry Dunleavy tweeted.

“Maybe one of two people who ever lived that you can say was probably worse than Hitler,” David Harsanyi tweeted.

“Let’s recall instead the millions whose deaths he caused, and the additional millions whose lives he ruined,” Andrew Stuttaford replied.

“If you wanted to know what evil looks like, here it is,” Matthew Marsden tweeted.
