Former member of the classic rock group Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, David Crosby, dropped a major announcement on Twitter saying he’s “too old to tour” after a fan asked him when they could expect upcoming show dates.
The singer-songwriter, who will turn 81 years old on August 14, made it clear Tuesday that, as much as he’d love to hit the stage again, he’s simply unable to be rocking out on the road for his loyal fans.
“I think I’m too old to tour any more ….sadly,” Crosby posted on Twitter.

He later retweeted a post from a songwriter and “an old hippie” who called him a friend, confirming he won’t be on tour again.
“At nearly 81, not only am I amazed you have toured as long as you did David, but amazed with quality you deliver time, and time again, and still do!” M.K. McDaniels tweeted. “Much respect, and understanding my friend!”

In February, Crosby took the stage for the first time since 2019 when he surprised fans during Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit’s set at a show in Santa Barbara, California, the New York Post noted. Crosby performed his former group’s 1970 hit “Ohio.” Afterwards, he took to social media to tell fans how great it was to play again.

Crosby was not only a founding member of the folk-rock group Crosby, Stills & Nash, he also founded the 60s music group The Byrds. Because of his work with both groups, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame not once but twice.
