Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) joined calls for Americans to get “into the streets” after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade on Friday.
Protesters in favor of and against the 1973 opinion — which argued that abortion is protected under the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution — gathered in front of the Supreme Court as the ruling was scrapped through the justices’ decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.
Investigative reporter Drew Hernandez captured video of Ocasio-Cortez helping to lead pro-abortion protesters in chanting that the Supreme Court is “illegitimate,” applauding and smiling as she called for Americans to get “into the streets.”

When Daily Wire staff reporter Mary Margaret Olohan asked Ocasio-Cortez whether she is willing to “condemn the violence proposed by pro-abortion groups,” the lawmaker appeared to ignore the question.

As Olohan has frequently reported since Justice Samuel Alito’s draft majority opinion leaked early last month, pro-abortion activists have called for — and carried out — attacks on crisis pregnancy centers.
Wisconsin Family Action’s facilities, for example, were set ablaze by a Molotov cocktail, while a spray-painted message saying “if abortions aren’t safe, then you aren’t either” appeared on the side of the building. Oregon Right to Life said in a statement that its offices were attacked by “incendiary devices, one of which exploded and caught the building on fire.”
Police recently arrested a man who arrived outside of Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s home after he told authorities that he intended to kill the jurist in response to the Supreme Court’s pending decision to overturn Roe. The White House strongly condemned the violence, telling The Daily Wire that “public officials — including judges — must be able to do their jobs without concern for their personal safety or that of their families.”
Feminist group Women’s March has promised to begin a “Summer of Rage” in response to overturning of Roe. “We took to the streets and showed the strength of our movement,” the group tweeted last month. “This will be a Summer of Rage across America.”
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is examining the slew of attacks — for which militant abortion group Jane’s Revenge has claimed credit on multiple occasions.
“The FBI takes all threats seriously and we continue to work closely with our law enforcement partners and will remain vigilant to protect our communities,” the FBI told The Daily Wire earlier this month. “We would like to remind members of the public that if they observe anything suspicious or have information about potential threats to report it to law enforcement immediately, call their local FBI field office, or submit a tip to tips.fbi.gov.”
Republican lawmakers have called for the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other agencies to designate members of Jane’s Revenge as domestic terrorists.
“We write with grave concern regarding the group ‘Jane’s Revenge’ and its documented attacks on pregnancy centers across the country over the past two months,” the lawmakers said in a letter first obtained by The Daily Wire. “This group is a threat to expectant mothers across America, many of whom are in desperate need of assistance.”
