Kate Middleton and Prince William are leaving Kensington Palace for life in the countryside to give their children a “normal” upbringing, sources shared.
The royal household announced Monday that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge‘s three kids, Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, will be starting at Lambrook School in Winkfield Row, Berkshire, in September, Yahoo News reported in a piece published Monday.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have today announced that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will attend Lambrook School in Berkshire from September 2022,” a statement at midday today in the UK read.
“Their Royal Highnesses are hugely grateful to Thomas’s Battersea where George and Charlotte have had a happy start to their education since 2017 and 2019 respectively and are pleased to have found a school for all three of their children which shares a similar ethos and values to Thomas’s,” the statement added.

A senior royal source told ABC News the duke and duchess want to give their children as “normal” an upbringing as possible, and desire the relative privacy that moving to their new home in Windsor, England, can provide.
“They are such an outdoorsy family, London just wasn’t working for them anymore,” a source told People magazine. “The countryside is definitely their happy place.”
The family has settled on Adelaide Cottage, which sits on the grounds of Windsor Great Park. The royal family’s move puts them much closer to Queen Elizabeth II, who recently moved to Windsor Castle full-time, Vogue magazine noted.
The cottage is a four-bedroom home on the Windsor estate and in 1831 was the home of Queen Adelaide, the wife of King William IV, Fox News noted.
In 2020, royal correspondent Neil Sean talked to Fox News and shared that the royal couple wants their kids to enjoy a “normal childhood.”
“Both Kate and William … like the idea of having them mix with all the other children of their age to make friends and enjoy a normal childhood without the confines of royal life,” Sean shared.
Despite the entire family’s new location, the royal couple’s place at Kensington Palace will still be used as the duke and duchess’ official working base as senior members of the royal family, Yahoo noted.
