Former British TV morning show host Piers Morgan told Amber Heard that “it’s time to stop playing the victim” after the actress called social media’s reaction to the verdict in her defamation trial against Johnny Depp “unfair.”
The 57-year-old TV personality took to Twitter Monday and noted how the jurors in the Depp-Heard defamation trial never even saw the comments on social media while the case was on trial and wrote that they came to the conclusion the “Aquaman” star was “lying” on their own.
“The jurors didn’t read any of the social media stuff, they listened to the evidence & concluded she was lying,” Morgan tweeted to his millions of followers.
“I suggest it’s time for Ms. Heard to stop playing the victim,” he added.
The comments came in response to a clip of Heard’s upcoming interview on NBC’s “Today” show that will air throughout the week.
As The Daily Wire previously reported, in the interview, Heard said, “Even if you think that I’m lying, you still couldn’t look me in the eye and tell me that you think on social media, there’s been a fair representation.”

“You cannot tell me that you think that this has been fair,” she added.
Following the jury’s decision to rule in favor of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star, Morgan reacted to the verdict on his Piers Morgan Uncensored show, calling it a “complete slam dunk victory for Johnny Depp” and a “‘wipeout for Amber Heard.”
“It’s hard to imagine a bigger humiliation for Amber Heard,” he added. “It’s a complete disaster and failure.”
The jury found that Heard had defamed Depp in a 2018 op-ed about domestic violence, published by The Washington Post, awarding him a total of $15 million in monetary damages, though it was dropped to a total of $10.35 million due to Virginia law, according to The Daily Wire.
The interview with Heard is set to air Tuesday, June 14, and Wednesday, June 15, on NBC’s “TODAY” and Friday, June 17, on “Dateline” NBC at 8 pm ET.
