Team Fleccas has uncovered more disturbing evidence that the country’s collective IQ is in free fall.

Austen Fletcher, the man behind the popular channel Fleccas Talks, once again dispatched TikTok star and man-on-the-street correspondent Justin Awad to New York City this week to test the knowledge of random folks with what should have been basic questions. The results were shocking, tragic, and … hilarious.

“Who fought in the Civil War?” Awad asked a woman in the Big Apple’s Times Square.

“Isn’t it like, Great Britain and Australia?” she replied.

If you also got that wrong, please just stop reading now and definitely don’t watch this:

Other simple questions and horribly wrong answers included these:

“Do you know what the square root of four is?”

“16.”

“Who fought in the Revolutionary War?”

“I don’t even know what that war is.”

“What are the two countries that border the U.S.?

“The United Kingdom and Europe.”

When Awad helpfully explained that he meant countries that “physically border” the U.S., you know, “like, on a map,” the man on the street tried again with renewed confidence.

“Venezuela and Alaska.”.

Folks on the streets of New York demonstrated that they don’t know what a compass is, who is the leader of Russia, who fought in the Revolutionary War, or what the First or Second amendments are.

But they aren’t afraid to guess.

Asked to name three countries in North America, one woman gamely replies, “Colorado, Nevada and, let’s say Massachusetts.”

Last month, Fletcher and Awad teamed up for a similar expose on ignorance, discovering that actual people were unable to say how many eggs are in a dozen, how many years in a decade, or to name the vice president.

“Lots of people have no clue where they even are on the planet,” Fletcher lamented.

Fletcher, who has 578,000 YouTube subscribers, built up his following by going to protests and asking leftists relatively straightforward questions and getting answers ranging from hilarious to terrifying. He now has a weekly podcast, which drops on Fridays.

In 2020, Fletcher made more serious news when he caught up with Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) to ask him about the riots that were going on at the time in Portland, Oregon. Nadler declared that the black-clad anarchists were “a myth.”
