White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki admitted on Monday that illegal aliens pouring across the southern U.S. border are not subject to the same COVID-19 restrictions as foreign travelers coming into the states.

“Is somebody asking the foreign nationals who are walking into Del Rio, Texas and setting up camps on this side of the border for proof of vaccination, or a native COVID test?” Fox News’s Peter Doocy asked. “If somebody walks into the country, right across the river, does somebody asked them to see their vaccination card?”

Psaki claimed that people who cross the border are “assessed” for COVID-19 and then supposed to be quarantined if they appear to be positive for the virus.

“They’re not intending to stay here for a lengthy period of time. I don’t think it’s the same thing,” Psaki said. “It’s not the same thing.”

“But they are here!” Doocy contested. “What’s the difference?”

The press secretary then claimed that the administration is using Title 42 and other policies to expel migrants because they don’t want a COVID outbreak from the large uptick in aliens coming into the U.S.

Doocy topped off his questions about the border by asking why Vice President Kamala Harris, who was tapped by President Joe Biden to address the “root causes” of the administration’s border crisis, hadn’t spoken on the new influx yet.

“She has been addressing the root causes of migration by working with countries in the region to ensure they have the assistance they need to reduce the number of people who are coming and trying to make those journeys across the border. We’ve actually seen some reductions in some of those numbers,” Psaki said, implying that Harris had something to do with those reductions. “That doesn’t change the fact that this is a very challenging situation in Del Rio.”

While the administration panders to illegal aliens pouring across the southern border, adult foreign nationals traveling to the U.S. will be required to be fully vaccinated beginning in November.
