President Trump announced he would be a color commentator for an upcoming boxing match. The 45th president will be joined by his son Donald Trump Jr. at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida for the fight on Saturday.

They have been slated to assist with the play-by-plays of the fight between Evander Holyfield and Vitor Belfort. President Trump has previously hosted several boxing events in the 80’s and 90’s.

“Well during the course of my business career, I held many, many fights. I had Evander, a really great champion and Mike Tyson,” he stated. “…I just really learned to like it. I’d much rather watch it than do it, but I learned to like it and the fans like it. There’s nothing like a great fight and I’ve had plenty of them.”

According to the 45th president, one of the main reasons he agreed to be a commentator was his close relationship with one of the fighters.

“Well it’s one of the reasons I’m doing it. I tell you what. I have been close to Evander,” he expressed. “I’ve been with Evander during some incredible times and during some of his incredible wins and I’ve seen Evander in a little bit of a bad time but he always came out of it. He’s a great guy and he’s a great, great, fighter.”

Trump said Holyfield has a great physique, but he’s also a great man.

“I know Evander’s family and he’s a very special guy, tremendous heart. When they talk about Evander he was always in incredible physical shape,” he explained. “…Evander was always in shape, but better than his body was his heart. The guy was just a fantastic person. I don’t know if he can hear me now. I hope he can, but Evander had tremendous heart.”

Fans are eagerly awaiting the president’s return to boxing commentary at the upcoming fight.
