The race to unseat Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R) has heated up as more Republicans mull over a primary challenge. This comes as President Trump’s son, Don Jr., released a fundraising appeal for candidate Kelly Tshibaka (R) on Friday. Don Jr. praised her as “the real deal” and an “America First conservative” who is exactly the type of leadership Alaska deserves.

“I don’t have to tell you how important this election is. This is our opportunity to ensure Alaska has an actual conservative representing them in the U.S. Senate,” said Don. Jr.

Despite Trump already endorsing Tshibaka, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) said she’s considering throwing her hat in the ring as well. Meanwhile, Murkowski is being targeted for her vote to convict the 45th president in his second impeachment trial.

Polling for the race, using ranked choice voting, showed Murkowski only has about a third of first round votes, but still ekes out a win against Tshibaka after all rounds of counting.
